Some patients will experience spontaneous vertigo as a symptom of a transient ischemic attack. This will usually only last for minutes, unless the transient ischemic attack evolves into a stroke. Then the spontaneous vertigo may persist for hours to days. Multiple TIA’s can eventually lead to multi-infarct dementia.
